Bill Jarvis
President & CEO
Bill Jarvis joined Mobi PCS in 2004 as its first employee. As president and CEO, he oversees the development of long-term strategic goals as well as daily operations. Most recently, Mr. Jarvis served as president & CEO of GoBeam, a leading provider of hosted PBX communication services. Prior to heading GoBeam, Mr. Jarvis was regional president/area president of the Western United States for Nextel Communications. In that role, he was responsible for the $1.8 billion operating region, leading a team of 1,200 employees in four states. A 20-year veteran of the wireless industry, Mr. Jarvis began his career at McCaw Cellular Communications, where he rose to the position of vice president of marketing & sales for the California-Nevada region.
Ed Kurzenski
VP & Chief Technical Officer
With over 25 years of telecom experience, Mr. Kurzenski is responsible for the development and management of the Mobi PCS wireless network, as well as information technology. He has held director level positions in network engineering and network operations for wireless carriers Airtouch Communications (Verizon), Nextel Communications and Leap Wireless. Mr. Kurzenski has also led product management groups for operations support systems providers Objective Systems.
Renee Awana
VP – Marketing
With over 15 years of marketing experience, Ms. Awana manages all marketing and communication initiatives for the company, including advertising, public relations, retail merchandising and community relations. Prior to joining Mobi PCS in 2005, Ms. Awana served as director of marketing for ENPRO Environmental in Kailua, where she created the company's new brand identity and implemented local and national communication strategies. She has also held several management positions at Utah-based, global fitness manufacturer ICON Health & Fitness, and at now-defunct Honolulu advertising agency ADWorks.
Marcel Bekers
VP – Sales
With over two decades of telecommunications and sales experience in the U.S. and Europe, Mr. Bekers is responsible for indirect and direct sales distribution of Mobi PCS products and services, as well as statewide retail operations through its 12 stores. He has served as director of sales of U.S. Cellular’s North Carolina operations. Mr. Bekers also held positions including regional vice president, sales & business development for USA Mobility, chief operating officer and director of operations for Snider Telecom, and regional sales manager for Dial Page.
Jeff Napoleon
Director – Retail Sales
Mr. Napoleon is responsible for operations and sales at Mobi's 12 current retail locations, as well as the development of new stores on Oahu and the Neighbor Islands. In addition to having responsibility for retail financial performance, he will develop and implement sales and marketing strategies at the store level. Napoleon oversees all store managers and their teams. In his 10-year wireless career, Napoleon has held management positions in Hawaii, California and Washington State. He began his career with T-Mobile and served most recently as Hawaii district sales manager for Wireless Advocates.
Jeff Slarks
Director – Indirect Sales
Mr. Slarks is responsible for the continued development and expansion of sales through other retailers and through the Mobi PCS existing network of authorized dealers. He was previously the regional general manager – Northwest region for Cricket Communications, which he joined in 2001 as regional sales manager. Other previous positions include general manager – Washington/Oregon for MCI WorldCom and general manger – business sales for GTE Wireless.
Haden Kirkpatrick
Director – Product Development
Mr. Kirkpatrick is responsible for the evaluation, sourcing and development of new products for Mobi PCS voice and Hele Wireless Broadband customers. Most recently, he served as director of strategic consulting for Motricity, a mobile-content and mobile-commerce provider that he originally joined as global head of product marketing. Other previous positions include T-Mobile USA’s senior marketing manager over the Flexpay product and regional sales director in Los Angeles.
Mark Woelfel
Director – Financial Planning
Mr. Woelfel is responsible for all Mobi PCS forecasting and financial reporting. Most recently, he served as the chief financial officer for the Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Nation, a Native American tribe in California that owns a casino, hotels and other investments. Previous financial positions were also held at software companies OrderFusion and Accelrys.
