Mobi PCS Enhances Both Voice and Hele Wireless Broadband Networks on Oahu and Maui with Sixth and Seventh New Cell Sites of 2010

Honolulu, HI - Honolulu, HI—Mobi PCS has enhanced its 3G CDMA voice and Hele Wireless Broadband networks with the activation of new cell sites on Maui in Waikapu and on Oahu in Ewa Beach.
The Waikapu site addition provides enhanced in-building and street coverage throughout the Waikapu residential area. It also improves coverage in Wailuku Heights and South Kahului, as well as along Honoapiilani Highway, West Waiko Road and Old Waikapu Road.
The Ewa Beach site enhances in-building coverage throughout the residential communities along Geiger Road and Fort Weaver Road, as well as along Keaunui and Kolowaka Drives and Kapolei Parkway. It also improves coverage at Coral Creek Golf Course and Holomua Elementary School.
The company has activated seven new cell sites to date in 2010. New sites in Waikiki, Yokohama Bay and Halawa Valley on Oahu and in Ocean View and Kau on the Big Island were previously announced.
The local carrier is committed to an aggressive plan of site additions in 2010 as part of its continued effort to optimize its statewide 3G CDMA network and ensure a continued high rate of customer satisfaction. The network enhancements allow Mobi customers to use their unlimited voice and data services with fewer dropped calls and clearer in-building and outdoor reception.
Even prior to these network enhancements, an independent QMark Research survey revealed a 97 percent satisfaction rate among Mobi PCS customers.
Mobi’s 3G CDMA network handles an average of 1.5 to 2 million calls per day, with dropped-call rates of less than 0.8 percent on Oahu – well-below the industry standard and the only dropped-call rate published by any Hawaii carrier.
