Q: What is the Mobi Web?
A: The Mobi Web is a set of web sites that are specially formatted for viewing from a mobile handset. Many of the most popular web sites also have Mobi Web sites. These sites are formatted to allow scrolling up and down to see the site without having to scroll left and right. They typically have fewer graphic so that they load faster also.
Q: Can I go to any Internet site?
A: While you can type in any site name (URL) only specific ones are formatted for viewing from a handset. If you want to see a wide assortment of mobile specific sites go to the Mobi Web > Search > Mobile Site Directory
Q: What are the charges for searching the internet?
A: Unlike other service providers, with Mobi PCS it is unlimited! There is no usage charge, such as per kb or per second, to browse the Mobi Web or internet. If you download content such as wallpapers or ringtones from the Mobi PCS site there is a per download charge. Some handsets are built by the manufacturer to show a warning that additional charges or airtime charges may apply but these do not apply to Mobi's unlimited data plans.
Q: If I have a handset from another service provider or I buy a different Mobi handset can I transfer my wallpapers or ringtones?
A: Selected Mobi PCS stores have machines that can transfer non-copyrighted files to your new handset. Contact the Mobi PCS store nearest you.

A: Mobi PCS cannot replace content that was on a lost or stolen handset. Downloaded content is not covered under the Handset Protection Program.

A: Refer to your handset's User Guide. If you do not have it, a copy of every User Guide is on the Mobi PCS website. Go to: customer service > how to guide > select your handset > download User Guide.

A: No, there is no data roaming capability.

A: This is a handset specific function but on most handsets you will need to click on the menu button and then "Go to URL" and then type the URL.

A: The full Mobi Web is only available to those that have the Mobi Web feature added onto their service plan. Contact Mobi Customer Care to upgrade your plan.

A: Some handsets do not automatically clear your web browsing history. You can clear the history manually be selecting "Menu" and then "Clear History" or "Clear Cache," depending on your handset model. You can get back to the Home page by clicking on Menu > Home.

A: Yes, but not all sites are built for viewing from mobile handsets.

A: No, data is not supported while roaming on other service provider's networks.

A: No, it is not filtered. Mobi Web is unlimited and unrestricted access to the Internet. You can request that the Mobi Downloads feature be taken off.

A: You can access your email if you can access it through a web browser. If you go into the Mobi Web and select Search, you will see links for the most popular email.

Q: How do I pay for downloads?
A: You must put money into your Mobi bank before you can download any content. You can deposit money into your Mobi bank via calling *PAY and using the interactive voice response with a credit card or go to any MobiPCS store or dealer. When purchasing a download it will take the money out of your Mobi bank.
Q: Can I preview the wallpaper or ringtone before I buy it?
A: You can preview from the web site but not from the handset.
Q: Do wallpapers or ringtones expire?
A: no, once you buy a wallpaper or ringtone it is for you to use as long as you want until you delete it. If you delete it, you will need to repurchase it.
Q: Can I share ringtones and wallpapers?
A: The ringtones and wallpapers you download from the Mobi PCS site are licensed from the artists and are protected via Digital Rights Management and so they can not be copied or transferred. If they are ringtones or wallpapers that you created, typically you can share them.

A: After purchasing a content piece, you will have 24 hours in which to retry to download the content.

A: No, the system validates that you are a Mobi PCS customer so that you have a Mobi bank account to use to pay for the download.

A: When you go in through the Mobi Web or Desktop it will ask you to select your handset type. It will then only show you the content that your handset is capable of displaying or playing. When shopping for your new handset, look at the handset display card to see its capabilities.

A: When you go into the Ringtones & More section you will only be shown those ringtones and wallpapers that work on your handset.

A: You have 24 hours to download the content again without being charged again. If you do not, at the end of 24 hours your account will be credited for the download.
Q: Received download but it does not display/play properly.
A: Some wallpapers may not completely fill the screen because of having to adjust the picture to the dimensions of the screen without distorting the picture by stretching it or cutting off important parts of the picture. You may have small dark or white bands along both sides or top and bottom to take up the extra room.
Q: Can I transfer images/ringtones on my existing handset to my new handset?
A: Maybe. The Mobi Downloads are licensed and so cannot be transferred. These are typically identified by looking at the icon for the content. If it has a little key symbol, it is locked and can not be transferred. If you made your own ringtone from a CD, or took a picture and made it your wallpaper, then those can be transferred. Select Mobi PCS stores have the capability to do this transfer for customers.

A: No, there is no way to retrieve deleted content. You will have to purchase it again.
